I love how theirs necks and head form a heart. I collect swans, so I just love this photo.

This photo was taken at Spring Lake. There were many swans on the lake that day, but the one I was looking for was this, as my intentions were of photoshopping to make a heart.Time
This was in early evening when the sun was just low enough to cast a reflection on the water.Lighting
The lighting for this shot was perfect, as I said, low enough to leave a reflection in the water, but still bright enough that I didn't have to use a flash..Equipment
My camera is a Canon Rebel T3 and this photo was taken with no flash at f/7.1, 1/400 sec, ISO 100, 105 mm.Inspiration
I've always loved swans...they are such beautiful graceful creatures. I have a glass figurine at home that someone special gave me so after studying it, I decided I would try to get a photo with the swans heads as such with a heart in the middle.Editing
I use Photoshop CC for all my needs. This particular photo, I had to create a duplicate of the swan. Then I flipped it horizontal to make the other swan then used a copy of each image and flipped it vertical to make the reflection. I turned the reflection opacity down to half. The swan on the left, which was the original in the photo, I had to clone some of the greenery and erase it on the other swan to make some difference between the two. I also doubled the ripples in the water, but used a light smudging to make it not as noticeable. I did a couple things to the feathers to make them look like two separate swans, then added a little bit of orange to the photo to finish the lighting,In my camera bag
I have my Canon Rebel T3 (only one camera), my kit lense, which I used alot, 75-300 zoom lens, 18-135 lens, 50 mm 1/4 lens (which I have only used once), lastly, my Sunpak DigiFlash 3000 External flash (works great) and four sets of extra batteries for the flash. I also carry a towel, some nylons to put over lens when shooting people as an easy filter. And I would never leave the house without my Black Rapid sling strap!Feedback
Always keep your eyes open because something very unique may be right in your line of shooting. Since my boyfriend always drives, as the passenger, my eyes and head are always moving...looking for a possible composite or something I can photoshop to be creative. Remember that the world is at your feet and your eyes are your messenger!
