Thank you for this award. I feel so proud to have my photograph recognised in this way.

Location
I was travelling from Omagh towards Cookstown in Northern Ireland when I spotted the vapour trails from the aeroplanes.Time
It was taken at approximately 7-00 am as I was on my way home from work and heading to the Golf Course for a game of golf.Lighting
It was just first light, the sun was just appearing over the horizon. The silver streaks of the vapour trails were prominent in the sky and the bright sun coming into view made me stop along the road side to take this shot.Equipment
I used a cannon 350D with a standard 55mm lens using a tripod because of the slow shutter speed.Inspiration
The different contrasts of the colours, the silver streaks and the sun rise convinced me that it would make a good shot.Editing
Very little processing - I took the shot as it was and it turned out as seen it in the first place. In my camera bag
Cannon 350D, normal standard lens, zoom lens, micro lens, various filters and tripod.Feedback
I carry my camera with me everywhere. This photograph is a prime example of what you can snap even if you are not prepared. Be patient when taking shots, don't be afraid to experiment. Have fun, don't let disappointments get you down and always keep looking for that perfect shot. Good photographs can be got even with no preparation however you must be always geared for that quick unexpected shot.
