Location
This is Weeping Rock at Wentworth Falls, Blue Mountains, Australia, just outside of Sydney.Time
Would of been early to mid morning.Lighting
I was lucky that I got there in time for the sun to be behind the trees.Equipment
Cheap, flimsy tripod. 28-75mm Tamron lens. As for the camera it was definitely a Sony Alpha, it was so long ago I'm not sure if I was using my old or new camera but I think it was the A99. I probably also had a polarizing filter on too.Inspiration
It's such a beautiful area, I love hiking up there and taking photos of the landscapes.Editing
I played with shadows, highlights and saturation. Also I went along the top where there is a bit of sky and did some extra darkening. In my camera bag
If I'm hiking as little as possible! Always the Sony A99, Tamron 28-75mm, polarizing and ND filters and a tripod on the back. Usually I also have a Tamron 70-300mm and sometimes an A35 as a second camera.Feedback
Be careful on the slippery rocks, I have found myself in some precarious situations! If you are set up on a rock near running water and using a cheap tripod like mine vibrations through the rock cause problems for long exposures. Most places I can have a max exposure of 2-4 seconds but there is a bit of trial and error needed to find the longest exposure possible.
