It is not driftwood. It is Bristlecone Pine forest national park, between Lone Pine and Death Valley. About 12,000 feet. The weather couldn't have been better for the dramatic skies. Bristlecone pines are among the oldest lying things on earth, something like 5,000 years old. I had to see them. It is a breathtaking place.
