Location
This photo was taken inside the lighthouse Eckmühl built into the cliffs of Penmarc'h and Saint-Guénolé. A wonderful building 65 meters high, climbing all the stairs was a chore rewarded by the stunning view. The lighthouse Eckmühl illuminates one of the most dangerous places on the coast of Brittany. Legend has it that on this peak died lovers and heroes of the medieval legend of Tristan and Isolde.Time
I remember that we arrived before lunch, then in broad daylight, but this is almost irrelevant in the lighthouse.Lighting
I wanted to create this so mysterious to engage the viewer, remember it was day and the lighthouse on the inside is lit by a few lamps and a few narrow windows that propagate a wonderful soft light. Sure evening with light lit headlight would be a great way to light the scene by adding an even more dramatic effect.Equipment
My equipment consisted in the mythical and indestructible Nikon D90 and aim the light sigma 17/70 - f2.8, no flash nor tripod. The image was taken freehand with a time of 1/30 "Inspiration
I am passionate connoisseur headlights French, I do not know why but they have a special charm that exerts considerable attraction for visitors and then the region of Bretaga it is reasonably full. I invite everyone to schedule a visit along the coast of Finistère. For those who want to know more here is a site of a famous photographer headlights: http://www.jean-guichard.com/Editing
I worked in post processing this image into a b & w and using Adobe Lightroom 5 for appropriate adjustments. In my camera bag
Well, normally photographer when I travel and this happens frequently, then travel photography presupposes objectives covering all focal lengths, then over my beloved Nikon D610 I always have with me the nikon 16 35 for landscapes and the handyman nikkor 24 70 truly a remarkable lens. Over long distances using the Tamron 70 300vc / usd which ensures its honest work pending a more powerful lens.Feedback
Photographing freehand in a dimly lit room is certainly not easy, but we must always try following their instincts without being lazy, we all know that the best photo is absolutely what we still have to shoot, so my advice is to take pictures in harsh environments always looking to try different solutions, using the imagination, imagining the photo as you want it to be and this will happen simply.
