Location
This image was taken at Huntington Beach State Park in South Carolina in June off 2014 while my family and I was on vacation. I have studied Photography and I have been shooting for a few years.Time
This image was taken a little after 3 in the afternoon since it had rained a little earlier that day, the sky was overcast with random peaks of sunshine. I had grabbed my camera and two lenses in hopes of capturing some wildlife images while there.Lighting
Lighting is very important in an image. You need to always be aware of were the light is coming from and how it falls on your subject. Light and shadows help to create depth in your images and keep them from appearing flat. In this image she was not out in direct light she was next to a building under a roof and the sun was positioned to were the light streamed softly in on her.Equipment
I collect cameras film and digital so I have a quite a few choices when I go to shoot. This image was taken with my Nikon D5200 with a 55-300mm lens handheld with no flash just natural lighting.Inspiration
I love taking pictures of my grand babies and this was a spur of the moment shot. Everyone was tired from walking around so we stopped to take a break and there was a little wooden boat which the grand babies all decided to climb into. I already had my camera out so decided to snap a few shots and then everyone started to move on except for lil Izzy so I focused my camera and waited she laid her head on the edge of the old boat and then suddenly she looked towards me and I snapped this one image of that wonderful moment.Editing
I love to edit images just as much as I love to shoot them. This image was beautiful SOOC so all I did was upped the saturation using Photoshop bringing out the lovely red of her hair and the blue of her eyes.In my camera bag
What I carry in my camera bag really depends on what I am going to be shooting. I do like capturing spur of the moment images so I have a huge purse so I can always have one of my cameras with me. At the moment it is a Canon 70D with an 18-135 lens.Feedback
My advice is to always be prepared to shoot and to wait for the shot, don't be in a hurry. Pay attention to your light source, were it is located and how the light falls on your subject. When working with people I have found it best to capture them when they are not posing. I do many posed shots with models but I have found it is often the times in between poses that the magical moment happens and you can capture the real essence and beauty of that person.
