This photo was taken out on the long paddock near the Hay Plains N.S.W Australia.I spotted it from the road and thought it would make an interesting shot. The tank itself was very corroded and in pieces and if you look closely a new poly tank had been put up behind it but I trying to get down low as to hide most of it.Time
It was probably early afternoon and the sky looked amazing with the clouds an interesting shape.Lighting
I took this photo in colour and converted it to Black and White because the sky was so blue it had a more dramatic effect in BXW.Equipment
I used a Canon 7D, handheld, no Flash,with a Circular polariser attached.Inspiration
When I saw the old Tank it just looked so interesting, it could tell a story of the harsh Australian climate, especially up where it was and the many years it would have been used for the stock on the road and the drover taking them to water.Editing
Post processing was minimal as there wasn't much needed only as I mentioned the BXW conversion. In my camera bag
At the moment I have a Canon 5d mk iv and a Canon 7D ii. I usually carry a Sigma 100-600mm lens for bird shots ,a 16-35 for landscape and my favourite 24-105 allrounder .Plus a few filters, tripod and remote.Feedback
Always look outside the square when it comes to photography as you never know what you will see and when, and always take your camera with you there is always something interesting out there.
