Amanita muscaria, commonly known as the “fly agaric” or “fly Amanita”. This quintessential toadstool is a poisonous and psychoactive basidiomycete fungus, one of many in the genus Amanita. [ Wikipedia ]
This image was taken near Te-Anau on New Zealand’s South Island. It is pretty much straight from the camera. I used Photoshop to remove one blade of grass which was protruding into the right hand side and that was it. No other adjustments were made.
Canon EOS 7D; EF 100mm f-2.8L Macro IS USM lens @ 100mm; 1-30 sec @ f-6.3; ISO 100, hand held. Minimal processing (refer above).
