This photo was taken at the Tulip Festival at Aston Gardens, Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UtahTime
I was wandering the gardens admiring all the varieties if tulips in bloom.I took this in the afternoon around 3:00pm in late April during the middle of the Tulip Festival.Lighting
I really liked the way the sunlight fell on the single tulip, it gave the impression it glowing.Equipment
This was captured on a Nikon d850 with a Sigma 24-105mm f/4.0 lens.Inspiration
I love capturing different perspectives when photographing flowers. I liked how the sun landed on the tulip so that is stood out among the field of tulips.Editing
I did very little post-processing in Lightroom, I adjust the tone curve highlights (+14) and dimmed the shadows (-2) ever so slightly. I gave it just a touch of sharpening. This is one that was near perfect right out of the camera. In my camera bag
In my camera bag I carry my Nikon d850, with 24-105mm f/4.0 lens, this is my go to lens. Then I always have my 100-600mm f/6.3 lens and 50mm f/1.8 prime lens. And a tripod.Feedback
Try new angles, move around and don't be afraid to get down dirty. I have been know to lay in mud puddles or under non moving vehicles to get the perspective I want. Be adventurous. You never know where the lucky shot is going to come from.
