Tornado Warned Storm between Yorkton - Melville SK. Canada
YOWIE WOWIE what a view !!!!!!!!!
The models for the day were showing the most potential was South of Regina (Weyburn to Estevan). I was seeing decent potential a little later between Fort Qu'Appelle and Yorkton.
I am glad I went with my gut this time and stayed put because WOW did it pay off !!!!
What a stunning storm!!!
Shortly after the beautiful structure, I was in the rotation recording over 105 km winds !
Fantastic short chase day!

Very impressive.
You have given 2020 a positive swing that is really (nice) positive, a contribution to the Year 2020 Collection. As always, the competition will be tough, which, as an added consequence, makes a possible victory taste very sweet. Good luck and probably for the … time: Happy New Year and stay healthy in 2021!

Location
I took this photo between Yorkton and Melville SK Canada during a Tornado Warned Storm.Time
This was taken at 7:35 pm on July 12, 2020.Lighting
With storm chasing, sometimes we "hope for the best" when it comes to lighting. Around sunset sometimes really makes a photo pop with extra drama!Equipment
Canon 70D with Sigma 10-20mm lens f/6.3 1/15 sec. ISO 320 No Flash No TripodInspiration
As a storm chaser, we sometimes "get the shot" just when the moment is right (no dust, rain and strong winds to dirty the lens). Sometimes, moments like this is .... right place at the right time! (placement of where to be is decided by looking at weather radar)Editing
I use Photoshop CS5. I try to not do too much editing. Sometimes try to enhance to make it "pop" a little more. I also will clean dust, water smudges and that type of thing. In my camera bag
I have a Canon 2400 SLR Gadget Bag Canon 70D with 2 spare batteries Sigma 10-20mm lens Sigma 18-250mm lens Lens cloth to wipe off water drops, dust etc. 2-3 spare SD CardsFeedback
This question for me is a little different than a "technique." Storm Chasing is about learning weather models, reading radar and then using it "in the field" to achieve shots such as this one.
