This photo was taken on beautiful Lake Keowee in South Carolina. The model is my sister Brittany. She finally agreed to a photo shoot with me after much begging and pleading for those big blue eyes. She has amazing features about her face and natural beauty.Time
We started shooting around 4pm. The lighting that day was perfect. Sunny but with the perfect amount of cloud cover to soften any harsh rays.Lighting
I love to use natural light as much as possible. It turned out to be the perfect day for this. Just the right amount of cloud cover.Equipment
I shot this with a Cannon 80D with a 50mm lens. No flash.Inspiration
I have always admired my sister’s features. I have no words to describe her eyes. That was my inspiration for this shoot. I’m so happy she finally agreed to model for me.Editing
This particular photo didn’t need much touching up actually. I mostly focused on bringing out the natural lines and coloration in the eyes.In my camera bag
I am a true left brained person. I am spontaneous and a bit all over the place. Much like my equipment choices. If I am going to a shoot, I pack whatever I feel would be best for that day. BATTERIES! We all need fully charged and backup batteries. That’s obviously the one constant I keep on me.Feedback
Shooting on any body of water can be tricky. You have the light reflections from the water, sometimes harsh rays and shadows. It’s trial and error. Try new things. Get creative with stuff you have around the house. There is no right way to create art. If your excited and having fun, you’re going to love the results.
