Thank you all who supported me and my photo and to the judges for the Award and for the 2020 Choice Award. It made my day. Especially in these Covit-19 days of isolation.

Behind The Lens

Location

I went for a walk the next morning after a big snowfall at Irish Town Nature Park in New Brunswick, Canada. I am an amateur photographer and love nature and being able to walk in the woods never knowing what's around the corner. That perfect shot of a bird or a landscape that moves you. I remember feeling calm and amazed at how quiet it was and the snow was so crisp and clean like no one had ever walked here since the snow had fallen. The snow seemed to cling in clumps to the evergreen trees as if they were clothing the trees.

Time

It was early morning and the air was crisp and the landscape so pristine and clear and the white blanket of new snow looked so picturesque. It felt like I was looking at a painting. I was so moved.

Lighting

The lighting was bright as it was early morning and it lit up the forest highlighting the new-fallen snow blanketing the trees.

Equipment

I used A Canon Rebel T1i with zoom lens EF 75-300mm no tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I was so moved by how pristine the landscape looked with the newly fallen snow that I just had to capture that moment to enjoy it again and again.

Editing

The photo is just as I took it. I don't have any special editing facilities. It is a hobby that I enjoy and love the outdoors communing with nature. I also write poetry and if the landscape or scenery speaks to me I take the picture and use it along with a poem that moves me. They work well together.

In my camera bag

small tripod, various lenses and a spare battery

Feedback

I can only say for me I shoot images that my heart reacts to. It has more meaning rather than just another photo image.
