Location
I watched the butterflies, songbirds, and hummingbirds coming regularly to my garden in London, Ontario. They loved the Cone Flowers. I am an amateur photographer, who loves capturing beauty whether it be of a colorful flower, bird, animal, or landscape. Photography gives me many hours of pleasure and each shot is a challenge. My photo's compliment my poems and other books that I have written and had published.Time
It was early afternoon when I wandered out to the garden and the light glistening on the Cone Flowers caught my eye. I decided then and there to get my camera and catch this beautiful, peaceful moment.Lighting
The light seemed just right at that moment so I went ahead and took the shot capturing my beautiful Coneflowers. They reminded me of a bright and eye-catching ladies' hat.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS REBEL T1i, Aperture f/7.1 Focal length 300/1 I did not use a tripod. I did not want to lose the moment as it looked like a perfect time to capture the Cone Flowers as the sun had appeared from behind the clouds and luckily not a breeze could be felt.Inspiration
It was on the spur of the moment when the sun came out from behind the clouds shining brightly on the Coneflowers making them look ablaze with colors.Editing
I cropped the photo a bit as I wanted to focus on the coneflowers only.In my camera bag
I usually have my camera handy Tripod, spare battery, spare SD Cards, I usually have my zoom Lens handy EF 75-300mm. It lets me capture visiting birds to my garden and feeders. Living near a ravine, gave me a great opportunity to capture many different animals, birds, rabbits, wild turkeys, mallard ducks, raccoons, deer, butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and so much more. I do keep a tripod handy as I have to be patient at times to get that perfect shot of a bird that usually comes by to eat most days.Feedback
If you love photography you won't mind the time it takes to get that perfect shot of whatever you have in mind. Don't be scared to try and like me, I have a shake and persevere and manage to get the shots I set out to capture. If at first you don't succeed try again. That is my motto.
