Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken at Delta of Aksios River very near to Thessaloniki Grrece!

Time

The time was 12:47 of November 9th 2019 on a very cloudy and foggy day.

Lighting

The light was excelent for long exposure because of the fog. Nice duffusing natural light left alot of exposure time to capture the water and sky as one!

Equipment

The camera was a Sony ILCE 7RM2, Lens FE 24-240 3.5-6.3 OSS Tripod Rollei combact carbon Traveller no1, ND 10stops.

Inspiration

Aksios delta river banks and Kalohori lagoon delivers natural images of immense beauty and serenity. My fine art photography have a heavy need for such places and luckily the particular one is very near my home town Katerini.Still waters natural mirrors foggy days with a taste of mystery of tiny wooden boats emerging from it really inspires me!

Editing

All of my images are post processed. I usally do subtractive post processing by reducing alot of information that i beleive that mess with the subject. Like in this photo I completelly delete a tiny black percpective line of the horizon that i beleived it was distracting the attention of the viewer.

In my camera bag

Well my stuff is: Sony ILCE 7RM2, FE 24-240mm 3.5-6.3 OSS, Viltrox 85mm 1.8 an old Zenit Hellios with adapter for it , Nisi i40 flash, Rollei Traveller No1 carbon, 4 batteries , Haida nanopro ND filters 3 , 6 , and 10 stops and thats it!

Feedback

Well long exposure is another aspect of creational photography. Things that cannot be seen with naked eye can be reproduced on camera and some post proccessing to deliver some pictures that even a viewer of the field cannot see even if he stands right beside you at the time of the click. This is a unique feeling and satisfaction but it needs patience, technic and of course Love. But it is worth it !!!
