Behind The Lens

Location

I remember the location, with one window on the back. I needed light on the model and to avoid the reflex on the window. Better, I have chosen to turn off all lights and use only the one coming from some candles. The place has become relaxing and intimate at the same time as you can see in the model expression.

Time

Despite the girl's look, it was winter. Couldn't remember the exact time, but not late in the evening. In my country after 6 pm it is still dark in wintertime.

Lighting

The main light was a candle, so I was tempted to use a fill light. Anyway, the candlelight was that kind with 3 or 4 fires, very bright. That's why no further light was necessary.

Equipment

With poor light, I always use a tripod. Also if in that case, it was not necessary. My 750 Nikon camera equipped with a 1.4 Sigma Art 50 mm plus the beauty of my model made the rest.

Inspiration

This model is the typical strong girl. She always looks aggressive and determined. I wanted to catch her sweetness, what's better than the candlelight?

Editing

Of course, as you can see I turned the raw file into a bw picture. Nothing else was necessary.

In my camera bag

My backpack can be sometimes very hard to bring, because of the 2 cameras inside, usually equipped with a zoom 24-120 mm and a 50 or 11-24 mm. Never home the 300 mm a flash and sometimes also the drone. It's hard work but someone has to do it. (left and right, in outside pockets there is always another kilogram of the tripod and reflecting screens).

Feedback

Use patience and take your time, the light from candles is always changing and needs some extra shot.
