Behind The Lens

Location

Photo was taken from hill Ojstrica above Bled lake

Time

Photo was taken at winter morning. To take photo like this you must wake up early in the morning and walk about 1,5 hour to the hill. Path and the ascent is not steep so everybody can reach the top including young children.

Lighting

Day was sunny with light clouds so I need to use CPL filter to get more contrast and increased blue tones.

Equipment

Photo was taken with Canon EOS 70D and Canon 24-105 f4 lens.

Inspiration

Lake Bled is iconic place in Slovenia with few spots which visiting photographers all over the world. Bled is beautiful in all parts of the year and it is one of most photographed place all ower the world.

Editing

There I made minimal corrections in exposure, contrast and WB. The biggest transformation was cropping. I cut out some parts of image to get composition which I was satisfied. All was made in Lightroom.

In my camera bag

When I go out I always take with me my camera, Canon 70D, two or three lens (Canon 24-105, Sigma 17-50 and Canon 50/1,8). External flash, remote shutter and iPhone. :) Yes, iPhone is great tool for remote shooting. You need to connect it by wi-fi to camera and you have great opportunity to adjust all settings direct on phone including with live preview. In car I have tripod which help me in many situations with low lighting.
