Behind The Lens

Location

The picture was taken at Geneva's supercross 2016 at the opening ceremony. A photo not obvious to make for an unexpected result.

Time

This photo was taken on December 2, 2016.

Lighting

The light was very low and inside. I had only the play of the flame around the man to enlighten him for a very short time.

Equipment

I used my Canon EOS 7D Mark II with the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM | Contemporary. The focal length was 270 mm for an Aperture of 8/1.

Inspiration

The atmosphere that this man created and the risk taken with fire had to be immortalized. Moreover, he controlled these flames with ease, for a suprising, mysterious result ...

Editing

Apart from the brightness that has been very slightly retouched, the picture presented is original, the framing is also the same.

In my camera bag

I usually have with me my Canon 7d Mark II, a Canon EF24-70mm f / 4L, the Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3, a tripod and some batteries and backup filters.

Feedback

I think you have to be an observer and have patience. The photographer must have the art of grasping the second decisive, but especially the art of anticipating it. Try to show your vision of the scene by creating a strong and aesthetic atmosphere that departs from the simple representation of the subject. Additionally, you don't give it all away, but instead, you let imagine the possibilities.
