Location
This memorable photo was taken on our friends' beach at El Pescadero, south of Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.Time
The sun was setting during "cocktail hour" in December 2014.Lighting
The natural light of the setting sun lit the beach, water and sky nicely. I wanted my friend to be a strong presence but not distinguishable.Equipment
This was shot on my brand new Sony. I was (still am) a novice photographer, trying many things.Inspiration
My inspiration came from the beauty of the magnificent but simple things in life: the setting sun on a natural beach.Editing
The only post processing I did was to crop and lighten the sand.In my camera bag
My photography bag contains my camera, a telephoto lens, and a macro lens. (I rode on the back of a motorcycle from Vancouver Canada down the west coast of the U.S. and all the way to the tip of the Baja Peninsula, then back up to El Pescadero and Todos Santos. So I kept my packing light.)Feedback
When you visit a new place look for natural beauty and take many shots. Be patient. You will be surprised how many shots turn into beautiful photos you will cherish forever.
