Behind The Lens

Location

Was taken from the spare bedroom, the Blue Tit is perched on a pot bound Japanese Maple, which at the time, was slightly sheltered, Off Camera Right is a bird feeder, which a lot of visiting birds perch on before moving to the feeder.

Time

This was taken towards the end of a heavy rain shower, I believe it was taken around midday.

Lighting

The lighting is anything but ideal, natural light & an overcast sky giving a nice soft quality to the light. The walls near where the Japanese Maple are white which provided a little bit of fill.

Equipment

Shooting with Canon 6D & 70 - 200mm f2.8L II

Inspiration

It was more a photo of chance than any form of inspiration. I just happened have my camera on hand when this scene unfurled in front of me.

Editing

A little manipulation of the colour balance & some adjustment to the shadows & highlights. Crop & adjustment of the horizon.

Feedback

Patience, patience, patience. Placing branches etc near bird feeders or bird tables makes for an excellent photo op.
