Location
This was taken along the track up to the wonderful Toorongo Falls, within the Toorongo Falls Reserve 100 km east of Melbourne and north of the town of Noojee in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia.Time
This shot was taken around mid morning on an overcast day at the beginning of our Summer.Lighting
The lighting was almost a 'Dead Light,' which I thought it gave a slight Moodiness to the shot.Equipment
I used my Canon EOS 1200D with my EFS 18-55 lens on my old tripod, as it was lighter to carry on the trek into the falls.Inspiration
I was on a Shoot with my photography class and the area as a whole was inspirational, you just had to look at everything and see if it would make a good shot, when I saw these steps I thought they had potential for a great shot.Editing
I didn't do much post-processing at all, only a little lightening and colour correction to bring the steps out a little more.In my camera bag
I don't have much equipment at all, only the camera and lens that I mentioned earlier and a EF 75-300mm lens, an extra battery and memory card and that's it. In my bag, I also carry a large plastic bag to kneel on if I want to take a low shot, a small towel to dry off my camera if it suddenly starts to rain, this day I also had a raincoat as it was threatening to rain again after days of heavy rain.Feedback
I suppose the only real advice (as an amature) I have, is to keep a sharp eye out and really look at your surroundings. As something as mundane as steps in a path can make a great shot. Just look for what will work for you, move around, look for the right angle and only then move to the best spot to take your shot. Always think outside the Box. Happy shooting.
