I took this photo in my home.Time
I remember waking up early one morning and the vision of this shot popped in my head. My husband had given me the roses for our anniversary and I wanted to keep the memory of their beauty. I love reflections and knew exactly what I wanted the shot to look like. It was early in the morning, so it took a while to get the lighting as needed to pick up the deep color.Lighting
I tried many different areas in the house. After many attempts, I was able to capture the reflection. Lighting is everything in a shot sometimes, especially when you are depending on natural light as it streams through the windows on a winter morning.Equipment

I am always inspired by my mind. I see an image and will stop at nothing to capture it...hopefully. I don't give up easily. Flowers are a passion of mine, simply because of their uniqueness. I believe capturing flowers holds those moments forever. Whether it is new in its bloom, or at the end of its life. Flowers are a peacemaker, a smile, a laugh, a promise of a beautiful tomorrow...and capturing that moment in time are what I'm all about.Editing
I am very much an amateur. I do not do a lot of post-processing for two reasons, one is I am not savvy on the programs, and secondly, I like the viewer to see the shot as I saw it...real and untouched as much as possible. In my camera bag
I normally keep my standard lens on my camera but carry my telephoto lens in my bag. I also keep my remote, lens cleaners (which includes a bulb to blow out dust), tripod, external flash, and a cable to download photos since I always take my laptop with me.Feedback
My advice is to keep the background a solid color to avoid distraction from the subject. Think about what color will be the least invasive. Be sure to watch for light distractions, such as lamps that can distort. I moved so many times throughout my home to get this as I saw it in my mind. I even moved furniture to get the lighting right. Reflections are more than a vision through a mirror image, but a reflection of the beauty you see.
