I love this candid shot taken "behind the scenes" at a middle school drama performance of The Ninth Train.Time
This photo was taken right before the evening performance around 6:15-6:30ish.Lighting
In medium sized room filled with florescent lights, I was blessed that it was golden hour and the beautiful light was pouring through the windows! Can I get an amen for golden hour? ????Equipment
This was shot hand held, sans flash on a Canon 6D with a Sigma 35mm 1.4 Art. Such a beautiful wide angle lens with great bokeh.Inspiration
I was wanting to grab some candid behind the scenes shots during the "in between" times during this middle school drama performance. I called Phebe's name and she immediately turned around and this photo was made.Editing
I did not do much post-prosessing to this image other than slightly sharpened it and darkened the shadowsIn my camera bag
Since I am still working on building my business my camera bag is pretty simple: Canon 6D with extra battery and charger, Canon t3i with battery and charger and stock lens and 55-250 telephoto. External flash and SD cards. However whenever I rent lenses for an event my bag is equipped with the previous as well as the following: 70-200 2.8 IS II 35mm 1.4 ART 85mm 1.2 50mm 1.2Feedback
Be a light chaser. I found myself in this room full of florescent lights but I found a way to create a beautiful image by simply chasing the light. Shoot with a lense tbsp has great bokeh to blur out the background and keep your focal point on what's important. By doing this you're going to capture the essence of what is going on behind your subject whilst focusing in on what's important. Happy capturing, friends!
