Behind The Lens

Location

This image was taken at my home in my daughters bedroom. I am a self taught photographer so I am always learning and I absolutely love practicing on my two amazing kids and out fur babies.

Time

This was taken in the late afternoon while my daughter and I were having some quality time. She decided to wanted to read to mommy so she got in her rocking chair to do just that.

Lighting

I love using natural lighting for my photography, although I have struggled with doing so indoors. The light coming through her windows was absolutely beautiful that day and worked out amazingly for this photo.

Equipment

I used my Canon rebel t5 and my Canon 50 mm lens for this image.

Inspiration

The innocence and simplicity of childhood inspired this image. Just looking at it reminds me of not only my daughters childhood but mine as well.

Editing

I did do some post processing to bring out the beautiful lighting. I used the Greater than Gatsby actions for this photo.

In my camera bag

As of right know I have my Canon rebel t5 the kit lens as well as two back up batteries.

Feedback

The best advice I can give when trying to photograph young children is to be very patient and try not to always get posed images. Kids are so active and creative in their own way so try to them being themselves in the photographs. In doing this you get the real heart and personality of the child in your images.
