This photo was taken in my bedroom. And honestly, all the photos of my cat is in my room, I guess it's a hot spot for him.Time
I live in Florida so it's always hot no matter the time of day. I remember it was getting dark, so possibly around 8PM.Lighting
I love when someone compliments the lighting of this photo and others because I used a flashlight for some of my pieces. I really just want to give more of dramatic tone, and that's also a reason why I chose to go monochrome. So, holding one arm out awkwardly and another with the camera, I'm surprised it turned out the way it did.Equipment
Before I received my camera, a Nikon Coolpix L840, for Christmas (2015) I used my phone, Nokia Lumia, and a flashlight to really get the shadows and light and darkness I wanted.Inspiration
I never knew my cat would be such a great model! And really, my other cats can't stay still, so I'm glad he's kept up the good work. Anyways, seeing that he's really calm and just so cute, I just had to capture it.Editing
I always make sure there's an option for me to edit my photos if I really need to. If I want to go black and white, I have that planned, or if I want to go more bright and vibrant I have that open. So for this picture, I really wanted to understand how to make it more dark and lighter in areas for the best quality possible. In my camera bag
I know I'll always find something to take a picture of. That's why I have my Nikon Coolpix L840 nearby. Adding to that, I carry props. If I ever want to snap a quick pic of a vintage, edgy, or quirky shot, I'd use my tiny message in a bottle, tiny, rusted chains, and/or some cute flowers. And if I know I'll probably take a photo like that, I'll plan ahead and take other props with me for the shot!Feedback
Never anger or annoy the animals your wanting to take a picture of, some have a temper or don't approve of bright lights or whatnot. And I'm not the best at photography, I'm learning something new all the time, and I love it.
