Location
This was taken in central France, I was just leaving my friends house and I happened to have my camera with me as I'd been taking some shots of her horsesTime
It was taken around 4ish in the afternoon.Lighting
The lighting was natural, I didnt have to do anything.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D3100 and 18-55mm kit lensInspiration
This was an opportunistic shot, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time with my camera to hand and the contrast between the colour and drama of the sky to the fore and the light coming off the vibrant yellow of the rape from the sun at the back was just too irresistible.Editing
I put a graduated filter on to enhance the drama of the sky and the colour of the rape and upped the contrast to bring out the highlights and deepen the shadows. I also added clarity to give more definition to the sky and the flowersIn my camera bag
I was shooting with a Nikon D3100 but I have now upgraded to a Nikon D7200 with a 18-105mm kit lens that allows me to go further with my photography, I am hoping to get some milky way shots at the end of September which wouldnt have been possible with the D3100.Feedback
Make sure you always have your camera handy, sometimes you only get one chance to get that perfect shot and I've missed a few because I've left my camera at home although I have learnt my lesson now
