Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on our farm. I started my photography when we lived in Florida but when we moved back to Pennsylvania I found more beautiful things to photograph.

Time

I was working on Night Photography, so about 10 P.M. I loaded up my camera, tripod and gear and headed out to the pasture and saw the tree I wanted to photograph.

Lighting

The lighting I used was a small hand light and painted the tree with light as the camera took the photo. The stars in the night sky gave it the extra back light I needed.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Sony a77 with a 16 - 50 SSM f 2.8 wide angle lens and a shutter release.

Inspiration

With the tree being the only one in the field and with the stars around it the view just drew me to it.

Editing

I shot this photo in jpeg and the only processing I did was to crop it.

In my camera bag

I usually carry 2 cameras, a Sony a77, my main camera and a Sony a33. I carry my 16 - 50 SSM f2.8 wide angle lens and a 55 - 200 SAM f4 - 5.6 zoom lens along with a verity of filters.

Feedback

The main advice I could give is to have patience. Even at night lighting changes all the time and you need to learn to change with it. Its a beautiful time to be taking photos.
