Location
This is the Cutty Sark in Greenwich, London, UKTime
It was early afternoon, wintertime and very cloudy.Lighting
I shot this picture through the glass and was very lucky that it was all lit up from the inside with several spotlights.Equipment
I use a Nikon7100 and for this shot I had an all around 18-200 Nikkor lens but no tripod or flash.Inspiration
It's such an iconic ship that survived the seven seas and then a fire whilst being restored, the symmetry was shouting out to be captured and the warm colour and copper shine spoke to me through the glass. If you look closely from the front it looks like a weeping penguin.Editing
I put it through Lightroom where I tweaked the contrast and haze to just make it stand out more.In my camera bag
I carry my camera all day every day and in my handbag which Is usually mounted with my Sigma 1.4 35mm lens, I love it but I swap it around with my 18-200 when I need a bit of range. I have also invested in a Fujifilm X-T10 as a lighter alternative for my street photography.Feedback
Never be afraid to try something new from a different viewpoint or angle, you will be pleasantly surprised with the result.
