Location
This photo was taken on a solitary walk along the Thames on my way home from work.Time
It was still fairly early in the afternoon before the hustle and bustle of rush hour so could capture it without any people.Lighting
It was very overcast and a bit dull hence my choice of black and white as I felt that gave it a bit more mood and edge to the image, bit saying that the softer light made the shadows softer and not so sharp.Equipment
This was captured with my Nikon 7100 which tend to be with me on mot days living in my handbag.Inspiration
This is such an iconic view of Big Ben and Westminster Bridge, so "London" and and I just wanted to take an image with my take on itEditing
I only converted it to monochrome in lightroom and added a bit of contrastIn my camera bag
On my daily commute to work and weekdays I tend to have my fujifilm xt-10 with an 18-55 lens for my street photography captures but for more organised sessions and photo jobs I use my Nikon 7100 and prime 35mm sigma art lens but if travelling I switch to a Nikon 18-200 lens for a wider coverage.Feedback
Look around you and submerge yourself in the moment, look for different angles, reflections & light and capture it all, take several pictures and you will find that the latter ones are the better ones. Iconic scenes might seem boring but try something different, you will be surprised how the end product looks.
