You might think all these things happened at somewhere in Australia. But the truth is I took this photograph at the zoo of Budapest, the capital of Hungary. At that time the zoo had enough place to expand, after the neighbouring funfair had been closed. So it started experimental new program, where you can get much closer to the animals. These little kangaroos were chosen, because they are as you can see really friendly, but have no popularity such as tigers, elephants or zebras. But after this event all these little children surely want to adopt one of them.Time
I did it in the early afternoon. Although the weather was little bit cloudy, the temperature didn’t fall too much because all these happened in summer. So the animal came out, but the sun didn’t make such problems as it used to.Lighting
All these are natural lights. Nothing had to be added.Equipment
I used Sony DSC-H90, which was really good for that kind of photography, where you have only seconds to guess. No other equipment was needed.Inspiration
It was just a moment of time. Right out there I met the mother and these children who were not all of her. She only looked after some of them. And a second before I didn’t know I would take this photograph. I was only searching for another animal that meanwhile was placed somewhere else. But as I saw how extremely they wanted to feed this little creature, I knew I couldn’t miss it out.Editing
No there was no post-processing. You can see it as it happened. And I think this is the main power of this picture. In my camera bag
I used this Sony DSC-H90 with its G-lens. But recently I have changed it to the little bit more modern DSC-HX50. These are great for that kind of photography.Feedback
You shouldn’t insist on any kind of concept. Just walk and wait for the right time. If you have an eye of it, something surely will happen. And it’s worth to mingle with other people.
