Behind The Lens
Location
The back roads near Paradise Valley, MTTime
It was early afternoon 11 0r 12 pm.Lighting
The sun had just starting to rise above the Mountains behind us. On a fence post I saw this hawk. It looked young and was sunning itself. It noticed something in the grasses below, but instead of flying as I expected , it just walked to the other end.Equipment
Canon 7d 100-400 ls canon lens handheld no flash.Inspiration
The sight of the young hawk on the post was an opportunity I could not pass up. He seemed curious about everything. As I stood taking pictures it paid little attention to me, which is unusual for wild raptors.Editing
Yes, I added contrast, and a bit of vibrance. In my camera bag
Canon 7d, Canon t2i, A 100-400ls canon lens, a Tameron 10-15mm lens, canon 18-55mm lens. Tripod, beanbag.Feedback
Use a high shutter speed, and expect anything when photographing wild subjects. Look for things that seem out of place, and be aware of what animals are in that area.
