Location
I took this photo in Rockport, Maine on September 06, 2012 where I was attending a Workshop on PhotographyTime
This photo was taken around 4 pm during a outdoor photo shoot lessonLighting
This photo was taken when the sun was low on the horizon, so that the fading sunlight fell on the on the white walls of the Light House.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS REBEL T3i with a EF 70-300 mm lensInspiration
I visualized a scene showing many colors and hues from the grey sea, dark brown rooks, green grass and their contrast with the maroon tiled roof and white walls of the Light House. Also the sail boat made a great back drop.Editing
All it required was some saturation & increase in contrastIn my camera bag
I pack my bag with DSLR Canon Rebel T3i camera with 3 Canon lenses - 18 - 55 mm, 70-300 mm Long Range lens and 10-22 mm Wide Angle Lens. Also a External Flash light Canon 320EX. A fully adjustable tripod and lens cleaning kit as wellFeedback
Best time to capture a similar image is late afternoon with the sun behind you or on either side. Try to capture as many shades of color as possible with an additional backdrop to the main object to enhance the character of the photo
