Is it 5 or is it 6? I love the seagull trying to keep up!
See all

Behind The Lens

Location

I captured this image in Seward Park, Seattle Washington. I was surrounded by fellow airshow watchers, five feet from the lake, on a grassy hilll.

Time

Afternoon, right as the airshow began.

Lighting

It was harsh and nearly cloudless, so the blue angels were the only feature in the sky.

Equipment

Nikon D90, 18-135 nikon lens

Inspiration

I saw the seagull, and it almost seemed to be trying to keep up with the jets, which i thought was so awesome. Lady luck was on my side, as i framed the photo around the seagul just as the jets where coming into view.

Editing

this was my first year of photography, so i used lightroom, and i think, i little too much, what with all the contrast, clarity, and shadowing bars moved all the way to the highest they could go.

In my camera bag

Nikon D750, sb700, 50mm prime, lens cleaner, polarizer, extension tubes, water, and a remote.

Feedback

Look up panning and autofocus techniques online. Dont be a fathead and assume you know every feature of your camera and that the manual is for losers.
