This photograph was taken in my kitchen :)Time
This image was shot in the afternoon.Lighting
I used natural light because using a flash would have created flares on the glasses and the water. Slow shutter speed to pick up as much light as possible.Equipment
I used a Canon 50D with a 100mm Macro lens and a tripod.Inspiration
My photographic club has a monthly topic. I took this as my black and white still life submission. I did some research on the internet and saw something similar which I really liked. It was a lot more difficult to achieve than it appeared.Editing
I had to do quite a lot of post processing in Photoshop. I increased the contrast and had to do a lot of work to get the white to be pure white. In my camera bag
Canon 50D, 18mm - 75mm lens, 100mm Macro lens and 100 - 400mm Canon zoom lens, ring flash, large flash, softbox attachment for large flash and numerous filters. I also carry a small flashlight. It is amazing how valuable a bit of fill light in the right places can be.Feedback
Be patient :) I printed an A3 page with black and white diagonal stripes. This was placed directly behind the glasses (no space otherwise you will get shadows and the lines will not show through the base of the glasses). Use natural light as far as possible. This could work very well using a reasonably strong light from behind the printed paper, perhaps attach the print to a softbox. I did not have the faciliity to do this but I would be very interested to hear if that works better.
