Location
In 2011, my late husband and I went on a Polar Cruise which took us to the fjords of north-east Greenland. I took this photo from the deck of our ship while we were visiting the Rode Fjord.Time
It was taken in the late afternoon.Lighting
I liked the natural lighting of the environment at that time of day. I thought it created a very good atmosphere for the photo.Equipment
I used a Canon G12 camera. I used the inbuilt zoom of the camera, and later cropped the photo on my computer in order to make it even more close up.Inspiration
I just loved the whole environment we were in, surrounded by huge icebergs. Then I saw the zodiac boat between me and an iceberg, and I thought including it in the photo would give some idea of the size of the iceberg.Editing
When I got home, using the computer program "Photoscape", I adjusted the lighting of the photo to get it just right, and I cropped the photo to achieve exactly the picture I wanted. In my camera bag
I simply carry my digital camera and some spare batteries.Feedback
I think it important to be on the look-out for suitable pictures all the time one is on an outing. That way, you don't miss some good possibilities. I also take lots of photos in the same area, so that I can select the best ones to process further w3ith Photoscape.
