Behind The Lens

Location

The Skillion is near Terrigal beach on the central coast of New South Wales, about 90 minutes north of Sydney, Australia.

Time

I had walked around the rock shelf an hour before sunrise. This photo was taken about 40 minutes after sunrise.

Lighting

I like how the early morning sun was lighting up the cliff face. I lit up the foreground rock with a flash

Equipment

I used a sony a7iii with sony 24-105. I set this up on a tripod and lit up the foreground with a godox v860ii sitting on top of my camera

Inspiration

I like the coastline early in the morning. Watching The crashing waves on rocks. Capturing this movement of water with this beautiful morning colours of the sky is a challenge I enjoy. A great way for me to start the day

Editing

I edited in Lightroom. Not much. Made more contrast in the clouds and the sky a little more blue

In my camera bag

I don’t have much . My camera , flash and two lenses. 24mm and 24-105 Sony.

Feedback

Be aware of your surroundings. Keep an eye out for large waves and have a plan for getting to drier ground quickly.
