Location
The photo was taken at the Wild horse Rescue Center in Webster, FL on Wednesday, November 23td by myself using my camera as a remote and my Nikon Z9 on a tripod. I had 5 inch boots in the muddy grass area along with a dress on and stood a rescued Mustang horse behind me and a rescued Pyrenee dog I coaxed to briefly lay in front of me for the shot. It’s extremely hard to get animals to cooperate but this photo worked.Time
I had to drive over 2 hours to get to this Horse a rescue location and change in a shed in the front by the barn, set up my camera and meet the the Mustang and hope he would be ok with my dress. My wake-up time that morning was 4am and shot this particular photo about 11am that day.Lighting
This was only natural lighting and it was a misty day but I was determined to make this work.Equipment
I used my brand new Nikon Z9 on a tripod and a selfie timed remote on my phone. Everything was done with me being both photographer and model.Inspiration
To show the relationship of women, horses and fashion with a beautiful dog thrown in.Editing
I did a bit of color and contrast enhancement only using Lightroom and Photoshop all on my iPhone. In my camera bag
I am brand new to using a “real” camera such as the Nikon Z9. I just started photography 2 years ago and was only taking photos off my iPhone until I made the big leap into the world of Nikon in this case. I now carry the Nikon Z9 along with 2 lenses; the 24-200 and the 200-500mmFeedback
Animals are very unpredictable and fashion such as a blowing skirt can be frightening to a horse but staying aware of the unpredictable is the best method to taking this type of photo.
