Another beautiful pink and red North Queensland sunset.
Who would not love living in Northern Australia?
Except of course if you are afraid of bats.
Every night, just on sunset, we have the parade of thousands of Fruit Bats (also called Flying Foxes because they smell exactly like foxes), swarming over the sky heading from their daytime sleep retreat in the mangrove swamps to the fruit rich mango and pawpaw plantations, or even to our flowering trees in our back yards.
Right now in the trees at the back of my property, that has Rain Tree flowers and flowering gum trees, I have a squabbling noisy colony of Pteropus conspicillatus, or Spectacled Fruit Bat.
My little German Spitz hates them, along with the resident Possums.
