It's a small lake, Mallasvesi, one of hundreds of thousands in Finland, near a town called Valkeakoski.
After a bout of very cold weather, most lakes in Finland were frozen enough to walk on. On that day though, the temperature was playing a balancing act around 0 degrees Celsius, so some water vapour was making its way into the atmosphere, and then that was getting frozen, resulting in a thick mist forming above the lake. I was standing maybe 20 meters away from the couple, with a 15mm lens.
About 150 meters in front of us there should be a thick forest that is completely obscured by the mist.
