This photo was taken of the organizer, Madison Rice, at her Rabittat fundraising event to help feral rabbits. The photoshoot meetup was held at Deer Lake Park in Burnaby, British Columbia.Time
The meetup began around 3pm in the summer of 2022 and this particular shot was taken closer to the evening, the sun was out earlier in the day but where we shot, it was like open shade with some scattered trees around.Lighting
I just used natural light at this point, it was like open shade type of light. I had my strobe with me but since it was a meetup with many photographers around, I put it aside for fear that someone could accidentally trip on the lightstand hurting themselves or someone else or damaging my flash.Equipment
I used my Panasonic GX9 with my Zuiko 75mm f1.8 lens on this shot, I had a Hoya Softener filter on my lens and it gave a bit of a dreamy look to the image.Inspiration
Madison had changed to a bridal outfit for the latter half of the meetup and I figured I wanted to try to get a dreamy looking image for this outfit.Editing
I'm not great at photoshop, I only made some basic adjustments in the ACR and her complexion and makeup were top notch so I didn't have to do too much in Photoshop. I think I made a couple small adjustments with ColorEfex in the old free version of Nik Collection. That was about it for post processing. In my camera bag
I shoot with pretty much all brands of gear but my most used are my m43 system and Sony. For m43 bodies, it'd be usually the Panasonic G9 and GX9, the Olympus (OM System) Pen F and for m43 lenses, it would be the Panasonic Leica 15mm f1.7, Zuiko 12mm f2, Zuiko 75mm f1.8 and Sigma 16mm f1.4, Sigma 56mm f1.4. For Sony, the Sony A6500 and for lenses it'd be the Zeiss 55mm f1.8 and Zeiss Batis 25mm f2. For lighting it's usually Godox AD200's and/or Godox AD600. I have some LED lights like the Rotolight Neo 2 and Aeos and some Aputure ones like Aputure MC and MW as well.Feedback
It's a pretty standard shot except maybe folks won't really use a lot of filters that were holdovers from the old film days. For the softener filter, most would just use Photoshop to get a dreamy look. The softener filter however might be one of those filters that might not be as easy to replicate in Photoshop though.
