Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken at a family reunion at my Mother’s house.

Time

It was taken in the mid afternoon, just after everyone had eaten.

Lighting

The sunlight was pretty harsh, so I was relieved when they sat down in the shade for feeding time.

Equipment

This photo was taken with a Canon EOS RP with the kit 24-105 kit lens.

Inspiration

I could see how much my cousin enjoyed spending time with his grandson, so I waited for a moment that reflected that love and was lucky enough to capture this photo.

Editing

I tend to be minimal with editing portraits. I obviously switched it to black and white, and increased the contrast slightly.

In my camera bag

I travel light…mostly because I’m a fairly new photographer. I carry my kit lens, a 50mm 1.8, and two spare batteries.

Feedback

Don’t try to force genuine moments. Be patient and most times, the moments will just happen.
