Back to my more familiar nature shots.
The Intermediate Egret is named so because it is intermediate in size between the Greater Egret and the Little Egret.
It was a very unimaginative period in Australian Ornithology!
We know this is an Intermediate bird as the neck is about the same length as the body. In the Greater Egret the neck is about 1.5 times the length of the body.
