I originally tried this shot on a cloudy afternoon when taking a macro walk. That evening I took the same walk and reshot all the white flowers using a flashlight to accent the swirls and layers of petals. Using only my simple equipment, I can innovate and create beautiful results that will one day allow me to make better use of better equipment.

A tiny blue plant beetle looks more like jewelry than it looks like an insect.

Note the elegant grace of this snapping turtle as it returns to the lake after its photo shoot. Usually only seen as a head above the water, the photographer was grateful for the chance to interact with such a being on land.
