I took this photo in my studio www.studio-b.at. I have enough room height to let the light really come from above.Time
Since it is a studio recording, the time of day was irrelevant. But we met in the studio in the evening after work. approx. 7 pmLighting
To really show off her muscles, I positioned a softbox with a boom high above her. As you can see from the shadow, she is slightly interspersed with the hotspot. This prevents her from not getting any light at the bottom.Equipment
I used a large Manfrotto boom with a Bowens Pro 1000 and an Ocktabox with a diameter of 150cm and a honeycomb. The camera I used in this case was an Eos R6. The lens was a RF 24-70 L 2.8. I like to work from a tripod, so we have a Foba Studio tripod. the camera was connected directly to an iMac.Inspiration
Steffi is a 10-time world record holder in various strength and endurance disciplines. That's why this shoot was exclusively aimed at showing off her muscles. She trains up to 6 hours a day and lives from her sport.Editing
I didn't have much to do in post-processing. I only adjusted the tonal values a little and converted the image to black and white. In my camera bag
I always have two cameras in my backpack with the most important lenses. 15-35; 24-70; 70-200; all RF from the L series. Plus an RF 85mm 1.2 L lens. For portraits. For light I switch between Canon flash and Profot B10, depending on what I have in mind.Feedback
If someone wants to copy a picture like this, all you really need is a lamp from above. More important is an appropriately trained model. As a tip, just go to the nearest gym and ask suitable people if they want to take cool pictures. I also have contact with dance studios. They are also real athletes. It makes sense when you ask unknown people for shoots to have a printed portfolio with you that matches the project.
