Location

I took this photo in my backyard on my break as I work from home. I reside in Portsmouth, VA and live on an alcove of the Elizabeth River called Banes Creek.

Time

Late afternoon around 5pm

Lighting

Just the sun outside.

Equipment

Canon Rebel T100 with a Canon 75-300mm EF Zoom Lens

Inspiration

I consider the Great Blue Heron my totem and reminder of the gift of life I have been given. It has been a symbol of mine my entire life and a reminder that my Father isn’t far away although no longer here. His pose and peacefulness was too gorgeous to pass up on trying to get a shot.

Editing

I’m honestly an amateur so excuse me if I don’t know all of the lingo! I did use LR to play with and adjust the sharpness, clarity and color vibrancy. But he was so BEAUTIFUL it didn’t take much!
