This photo was taken at Steinaker State Park, Utah! The small reservoir is a perfect little spot for sunsets, and reflexions off the water. Only 10 minutes from my easy-chair, it’s convenient and beautiful!Time
Sunsets have always been a passion of mine, even before taking up photography. I always like to look at cloud cover as evening approaches, clouds are my indicator of a worthy sunset. Several layers are especially telling of great potential!Lighting
I had to have the sun still visible for this shot! The lake was still about half covered with ice, so fish were surfacing, always a nice effect!Equipment
This was shot with a canon rebel T 7, with EF-S18-55mm f3.5-5.6 IS I lens. It’s light, small, and quite user friendly!Inspiration
I had this shot in mind for a while, and even missed several opportunities, but glad I made the short trip this evening!Editing
I warmed the yellows a little, darkened the silhouette of the tree, and enhanced the suns rays a bit for dramatic effect. In my camera bag
Always have the Rebel with me, and the lens that came with it! Also carry a 5dsr and several lenses, from a Sigma 15-30 aspherical, canon 28-135mm, and a 75-300, just in case!Feedback
Do your planning, find your spot, the right time and start shooting, if it doesn’t work, try again! This picture, will never happen again, ever! During the summer, this tree and some of the bank separated and caved off the edge. Always take the shot, you never know!
