Location
Taken in Victoria Park - Truro, Nova Scotia.Time
This was taken late afternoon in early spring. There's a large waterfall in the park (towns water supply is at the top of the park that is on a large hillside more or less). In the spring the water is very high, and with all the rain the river running through the park is flowing nicely.Lighting
Not overly - the sun is fairly well hidden behind the large trees at this time of the day and year. I had enough natural light to keep my ISO manageable/ all I would have been worried about.Equipment
This was only shot with a Canon T7 - I would have been using my EFS 55-200mm. No tripod and no flash. I took this when I was first starting taking photos/ hence the T7.Inspiration
I was learning at the time, and I was experimenting with different shutter speeds based on a book I was learning from. I wanted something moving fast and in the park the river was flowing very fast and was really my option. Did not expect much but was happy with this shot using the tools I had just learned.Editing
Yes but more basic Lightroom features. Was a RAW image and I adjusted my exposure a bit, colour graded a tad and messed around with the contrasts of the green. In my camera bag
Pretty well all my lenses. I'm very organized and have an excellent backpack (highly recommend spending more on a good bag that you can adjust the inside to safely store your lenses) - allows me to bring more equipment as well incase I encounter something worth shooting where I need to change lenses fast. But general cleaning supplies for the lens, ALWAYS extra SD cards. You do not want to run out of space or even worse forget to load your card in the camera before leaving. Overall, be prepared for all elements and bring as much as you can without it being a burden weight wise/ my explanation for why I bring all my equipment.Feedback
Yes get rid of your autofocus if you're able to navigate manually (if you're using gear that isn't up to par to the best - like the T7). Very hard to auto focus to get what I was aiming for, took me a bit with a lot of continuous bursts to capture. If you're using comparable to Canon R5, you should be fine to capture with the camera's amazing technology, but don't be afraid to over expose to get the proper shutter speed - can always adjust later in Lightroom or Photoshop.
