Location

I took this at my home in Flowery Branch, GA.

Time

Seems like it was midafternoon but in the shade.

Lighting

Natural light under shade trees outdoors.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D7000. I don’t remember if I used fill flash, but I don’t think so.

Inspiration

My daughter wanted advertising photos to promote the products she was selling. I thought that a color splash would bring more attention to the nails.

Editing

I used Photoshop to mask out the monochrome parts of the photo.

In my camera bag

I shoot a Nikon 850 with Nikon Primes in 20mm, 35mm and 85mm. I also use a Nikon 200-500mm f 5.6

Feedback

Just experiment until you find what works best for you. I learn more from failures than successes. Don’t be afraid to break something.
