This photo was taken at Fairchild Botanical Gardens, in Coral Gables, FL. I went there, just to walk around one day, and see their Chihuly exhibit. This lovely gentleman was sunning himself, on a rock wall, near their lake.Time
This was taken around 11am, as the sun was starting to get high in the sky.Lighting
This shot had some great natural light, as the sun was getting higher in the sky.Equipment
This photo was taken before I had the money to upgrade my cameras, so it was shot on a Sony Cyber-Shot camera. It was originally a present from a friend. Not expensive, but not cheap either.Inspiration
I actually like iguanas, and think they are very interesting looking. When I saw this big guy, just lounging on the rock wall, I figured he wouldn't mind me getting his "good side".Editing
Only post processing was a small crop and auto-adjust entire photo in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I normally carry my Canon 6D Mark II, with my 24-105mm lens on it. Also my 100-400mm, and at times my 100mm macro lens. I also recently acquired a Sony RV10IV, and that now goes with me too.Feedback
When photographing iguanas, as with other wildlife, be aware of your surroundings. Not only could you potentially miss you shot by startling them, but they could also possibly whip you with their tails or get you with their claws. Just be mindful that you are a visitor in their home, not vice versa.
