Location
This photo was taken at the Zoo in Antwerp. And was actually being on the right spot at the right time.Time
Was dring a summer afternoon.Lighting
I have used an higher ISO value, 1250, using flash is not done. You simply don't want to scare the animals. And using a telephoto lens, 70-300.Equipment
I was using an Nikon D3X and a zoom lens 70-300. F4.5-5.6.Inspiration
The playful scene that was going on, I was lucky to be close enough to take this photo without disturbing or scaring the birds.Editing
In LightRoom I did the the usual workflow, enhanced the colors and did some noise reduction. Used a vignette to let the birds pop a bit more in the photo. In my camera bag
Most of the times my trusty Nikon D3X and a standard 24-70 2.8F zoom lens. When i visit the zoo, I will take a tele zoom 70-300. Since the beginning of this year I started also shooting analogue and developing my own film in Black and White. Here I use my Nikon F4 or, Nikon F3. And an old Hasselblad 500 C/M.Feedback
Be patience and let the action unfold itself. No need to rush, what will happen will happen. And sometimes you need luck on your side. Being on the right spot on the right time. And when photographing animals please do not use a flash. I have seen a lot of people doing this. It scares the animals.
