Behind The Lens

Location
I took this in Banff National park in Canada at Lake Minnewanka in February of 2022. The lake freezes over so I was sitting on the frozen sheet.
Time
This was pretty early morning. I was hoping for a beautiful sunrise, but this is the light I got this morning. This was probably around 9am.
Lighting
I was waiting all morning for some vibrant lighting, but this is all I got when the sun peeked through the clouds for a few moments. Didn't get the drama I wanted, but it's a very tranquil picture.
Equipment
Fujifilm xt3 and my 10-24 f4 lens
Inspiration
This was a solo photography retreat for me. To go sit in the mountains and wait for the light. Just me and nature. Call it photographic meditation.
Editing
Yes there was some post involved. But not a lot actually. Some global adjustments and that's it.
In my camera bag
I typically carry one of my Fuji bodies which is now either an XT4 or XH2. The XH2 has become my primary camera.
Feedback
Just have patience. Relax. Be in the moment. You may have to sit there for quite a while to get the shot you want. Sometimes you don't and need to come back later. Put the phone away and just soak up the natural beauty around you.
